Marijuana and tobacco laced with insecticides such as Raid – known on the street as “Katie” or KD – are apparently highly addictive and leading to overdoses, according to first responders.
Indianapolis firefighters say they’re responding to multiple KD overdoses a day.
Bug spray contains a high concentration of pyrethroids, which can induce a zombie-like state. It’s possible the drugs are becoming popular because they are cheap and easily available and do not show up on standard drug screenings.
